- 1962eventAlcatraz Island
On the night of June 11, 1962, Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence Anglin slipped out through vents widened with spoons, climbed a utility corridor, and launched a raft of glued raincoats into the bay — leaving papier-mache heads in their bunks. Never found. The FBI closed its case in 1979; the US Marshals never have.
