The types index

Rooms with records — lodging, worship, performance, medicine, law, and the buildings that outlasted all of it.

Cemeteries, battlefields, forts, parks and the ground itself — features that needed no walls to earn a file.

Stretches of road, crossings and tunnels filed as places in their own right.

Vessels and shore lights — the files that float or stand watch at the waterline.

Towns, villages, districts and ghost towns — communities filed under a single reputation.

Former things — settlements, works and buildings reduced to footprint, and the reports that stayed.

Registered sites, monuments and memorials — the record at its most documentary.
