Roads

A stretch of road filed like a place, because the reports treat it as one. Road dossiers collect the most migratory claims in the archive — phantom passengers, lights that pace a car, figures at the same curve across decades of separate accounts. The record notes mile markers and jurisdictions; what it cannot note is why the same reports recur at the same few hundred yards. That is left where the record leaves it.
