Inns

Lodging on a smaller register than the hotel files — a handful of rooms, a long history, and a host who usually knows exactly which room the report concerns. Inn dossiers are intimate records: the claims attach to specific beds, stairs and tables, and the witnesses are often guests who arrived knowing nothing of the reputation. The archive files what was reported; it does not guarantee the breakfast either.
