Historic house museums
A house converted to interpretation — staffed, catalogued and open for tours — where the staff file includes reports the tour omits or, occasionally, features. These dossiers are unusually well witnessed: docents and visitors describe the same rooms, and the records of the institution supply the documented half of every claim. The archive keeps both halves. Former owners are listed in the provenance; what witnesses say about their continued residence is filed separately.
