The March 27, 1836 massacre of ~342 prisoners is documented. A church with centuries of documented ministry gives the file real ground to stand on. This belongs to the verified spine of the entry, the layer everything else is measured against. The record appears in 'Presidio La Bahía / Goliad'. The record keeps it — history, not lore.
