British soldiers
Sources attach this name to the 1 place below. The name itself is part of the folklore record.
Reported soldier figures and a presence in the tower tied to the fort’s 18th-century garrison. The accounts name only a collective — british soldiers. Crews leave marks on vessels long after they muster out, and Sandy Hook Lighthouse in Highlands, New Jersey had crews enough. The report is preserved in sources like 'Sandy Hook Light'. The name travels further than the proof; the sightings keep renewing the lease.
