'Claude' is the Jerome Grand's elevator ghost — the apparition near the lift attributed to the 1935 death of orderly Claude Harvey, found pinned under the car in the former United Verde Hospital. The elevator remains the building's claimed hotspot and its most-photographed uninteresting object. The telling survives; the proof stays folklore.
