Dorothy
Sources attach this name to the 1 place below. The name itself is part of the folklore record.
'Dorothy' is Bannack's named ghost — the girl said to have drowned in the dredge pond, appearing in a blue dress near the old swimming hole in the ghost town's retellings. She's the site's folklore-mascot: the story every ranger-led tour includes, attached to Montana's best-preserved gold camp. The lore keeps its witness.
