Nantinaq
Sources attach this name to the 1 place below. The name itself is part of the folklore record.
Former residents described a large hairy creature blamed for disappearances and found-mutilated bodies. Nantinaq is what the reports name it. A near-empty town in Portlock, Alaska gives every unexplained sound an address and a history to attach to. 'Port Chatham, Alaska' carries the account. The named presence is what turns a haunting into a household.
