Pope Lick Monster / Goatman
Sources attach this name to the 1 place below. The name itself is part of the folklore record.
The Pope Lick Monster — Louisville's 'Goatman' — is the trestle's lethal legend: the part-man, part-goat creature said to lure victims onto the tracks to their deaths. The lore is folklore; the deaths on the trestle are real, which is what makes this Kentucky legend genuinely dangerous. The telling survives; the proof stays folklore.
