The DriskillGrand staircase
Samantha Houston — the senator's four-year-old daughter who fell to her death on the Driskill's grand staircase in 1887 — is the hotel's most-documented ghost: the little girl bouncing a ball on the stairs is its oldest and most-reported apparition, tied to a real death. Her portrait watches the staircase where it happened.
