McPike tour lore calls the cellar presence 'Sarah' — a woman in white seen on the stairs and felt in the basement, attributed variously to the McPike family and to a servant who never left. The mansion's decades of dereliction gave the story room to grow; restoration hasn't exorcised it. McPike Mansion wears the claim the way old houses do: visibly, and without comment.
