The dunes dead
Sources attach this name to the 1 place below. The name itself is part of the folklore record.
The dead are reportedly seen. The presences go by the dunes dead in the file. Oregon Dunes' file is thin on proof and long on persistence — the standard profile of American place-lore. The file keeps The dunes dead on the roster; the sightings keep the name alive. The file stays open on it. The telling survives; the proof stays folklore.
