- 1948historyMantell incident site
Mantell died January 7, 1948 while pursuing a reported object; Skyhook balloon is the accepted explanation. The documented date is 1948-01-07. The site's documented history is the record the rest of the file stands on. The record holds it as fact — documented, not retold. The detail is preserved in 'Mantell UFO incident'. It's the sort of fact that gives the haunting reports their context.
