Historic inns with a file in Mississippi

Mississippi keeps 5 lodging files — registers that never quite balanced. The pattern is the national one condensed: a documented house, a long guest book, and reports that attach to specific rooms and corridors. What guests filed is on the record; what the front desk will confirm is usually shorter.
