Keepers of the light
The lighthouse files share a resident no other shelf matches: the keeper. These dossiers cover towers, keeper’s houses and offshore rocks where the documented deaths — falls, drownings, one shooting — are filed separately from the footsteps, relit lamps and cigar smoke the reports still describe. Isolation was the job; several files suggest it never ended.
